Long Khanh Fruit Festival - A Catalyst for Local Tourism Development

The Long Khanh Fruit Festival 2024, which took place from June 12th to 16th, saw Dr. Nguyen Van Tan, Dean of the Department of Administration—International Economics Faculty at Lac Hong University, participate in this important event. The festival has attracted many visitors from within and outside the province to experience and enjoy the specialty fruits of the region.

In 2024, the five-day festival was a vibrant celebration of local culture, featuring various activities such as cultural performances, sports events, culinary delights, and entertainment. The festival's highlight was the city's OCOP Fruit and Products Honor Week (Each commune for a product program), a platform that not only celebrated but also effectively promoted the region's high-quality agricultural products. With more than 20 connected landmarks and 100 fruit-tree gardens in the harvest, the festival effectively showcased the best of the region's produce, instilling a sense of pride in the local community.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tan noted that participating in this festival gives the Faculty more valuable information to serve the tourism development project in Long Khanh and provides an opportunity to interact and cooperate with industry partners. The Faculty of Administration-International Economics has been undertaking an important tourism development project in Long Khanh City. The scheme focuses on research and deployment of solutions to improve tourism quality, develop garden eco-tourism, and promote local-specific agricultural products.

Through its participation in the Fruit Festival, the Faculty has gathered valuable information and ideas to contribute to the development of sustainable tourism development strategies for the local community. The information and practical experience from the festival will be exploited for research and analysis to complete the project and ensure feasibility and effectiveness in developing tourism in Long Khanh.

The Long Khanh Fruit Festival, in addition to honoring the region's agricultural products, also served as a platform to promote the ecotourism potential of its gardens. This festival aspect is particularly significant as it aligns with the Faculty of Administration - International Economics' ongoing research and implementation of practical solutions to contribute to local socio-economic development, especially in tourism.
