[FAIE: International Business] Applying VBA and RPA in Import–Export Operations

In the context of increasingly deep international economic integration and rapid technological development, equipping students with knowledge and skills in business process automation has become extremely important for those majoring in International Economics. Recognizing this trend, the Faculty of Management – International Economics, Lac Hong University, organized a specialized seminar titled “Applying VBA and RPA in Import–Export Procedures.”

Part 1: Mr. Nguyễn Hùng Vỹ – Import–Export Director of Tessellation Company – opened the program by introducing the importance of VBA and RPA in import–export operations.

Part 2: Exploring the Power of VBA and RPA in Process Automation.
A special focus was placed on RPA (Robotic Process Automation), a technology that enables the creation of “software robots” to simulate and perform human actions on application interfaces. This section was presented by Ms. Vương Đỗ Hồng Nhung and Ms. Lê Thị Huệ – Import–Export staff members at Tessellation – who actively apply VBA and RPA in their daily work. The speakers demonstrated how VBA and RPA can automate complex import–export procedures such as customs declarations, shipment tracking, and international payment management, helping businesses save time, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.

Through these insights, students and lecturers gained a clearer understanding of how VBA and RPA can be applied in specialized professional tasks, as well as their significant potential in the field of International Economics, particularly in import–export activities. The seminar also highlighted the importance of equipping students with knowledge and skills in emerging technologies to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the labor market.

Students enthusiastically participated in hands-on case studies on computers alongside the speakers and actively raised questions about VBA and RPA applications.
